Using torch to do the color glass experiment with lamp working technique.
Using wax casting and lampworking techniques. Inspired by deep reflections on the essence of things, it mimics diamonds' luster and shape with glass, challenging artistic boundaries and offering insight into market behaviors. Increasingly, glass substitutes for diamonds, leaving consumers struggling to distinguish real from fake. This work explores the relationships between consumption, values, and aesthetics, prompting reflection on material and appearance connections. It encourages deeper contemplation on consumption habits and value perceptions in contemporary society.

Inspired by the waves in nature, it captures the dynamic beauty of water's flow and movement. Using lampworking techniques, it combines the aesthetics of glass fragility with the hardness of silver, blending fragility and strength. The piece not only showcases the unique characteristics of glass but also delves into the essence and appearance of objects, challenging traditional jewelry concepts. Through this work, I hope to provoke thoughts on the relationship between natural forces and human creativity, and to reassess the essence and appearance of objects.

Rong views jewelry as life items that carry personal stories and symbolic meanings, rather than just decorations. She is passionate about combining new materials with modern jewelry design. Through continuous experimentation and innovation, she makes her works more narrative and exploratory, thereby showcasing the unique charm of jewelry.

In her project overview, she focuses on redefining the fragility of glass using lamp working techniques, seeing it as a virtue rather than a flaw. Through this approach, she not only challenges the use of traditional materials but also deeply considers and reevaluates the inherent attributes, functions, and symbolic meanings of objects. Her goal is to create a new dialogue between art and functionality, redefine the application and significance of glass in contemporary art, and deepen the audience’s understanding of the essence, value, and durability of objects.
